Muckleton is currently in pre-alpha. Our systems and this policy may evolve as development continues, but we will keep data collection limited to what the project needs.
Information we receive
When you create a direct Muckleton account, we store your display name, email address and a salted password hash. We never store your readable password.
When you sign in with Google, Discord, Xbox/Microsoft, Steam or Epic Games, we may receive a provider account identifier and basic profile details such as your display name and email address. We use this information only to create or link your Muckleton account.
We may also store character progress, account-linking choices, forum posts, feedback and basic technical information needed for security, reliability and abuse prevention.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and keep your account available across sessions.
- To display linked characters, levels, progress and world location.
- To operate community features, investigate reports and protect other players.
- To diagnose errors and improve the website and game during development.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Cookies and service providers
Essential cookies are used to keep you signed in and protect authentication requests. Your chosen login provider processes information under its own privacy policy. Our hosting provider processes limited technical data required to deliver and secure the site.
Retention and your choices
We retain account and community information while it is needed to provide the service, protect the community or meet legal obligations. You may sign out at any time and request access, correction, unlinking or deletion of your Muckleton account information.
